Classes, Studies & Seminars

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus says that everyone who hears His words and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Rain, wind, and storms came, yet they could not destroy the house because of its strong foundation (see Matthew 7:24-29).

Jesus tells this story to help us understand how crucial it is to build our lives upon a strong foundation; a foundation based on Jesus, himself – our Rock. Then, when storms blow into our lives and beat against us (and we know that they will), we can withstand them.

How do we build a strong foundation? One step at a time. Participating in a seminar or class is a great step to take to strengthen your foundation.

The Alpha Course / 10 Sessions
• Mondays, 6:00 – 8:30 pm in Studio 2
• June 3 – August 12
• Cost: $5 for manual, available at The HUB

Who is God? Why did Jesus Die? Is there more to life than this? The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore these questions about the basics of Christianity – and many more – in a relaxed environment. It lasts 10 weeks, with a Saturday retreat on July 20. Each week we’ll share a light supper, listen to a talk that explores the question at hand, and gather into smaller groups for discussion.

Over 19 million people worldwide have taken The Alpha Course – because the most important discovery we can make is the difference between religion and a life-changing relationship with the God who created us.
